Refer Table I
Through the evaluation, the quantitative evaluation results of the pelvic floor muscle strength of 0-5 can be obtained. Among them, level 0 is the weakest and level 5 is the best. Level 3 or above is considered pass, and level 3 or below indicates that the strength of the pelvic floor muscles is not adequate and treatment and training are required.
The therapist will create a personalized pelvic floor muscle training program based on each individual's assessment. After one course of treatment and training, a re-evaluation can be performed and the treatment plan adjusted according to the evaluation results.
Who should have a pelvic floor muscle strength assessment?
1. Postpartum women: with the fetal pressure on the pelvic floor muscles during pregnancy, the expansion of the pelvic floor muscles during childbirth, regardless of normal delivery or cesarean section, mother's pelvic floor muscles will be damaged, the tension of the vaginal wall is reduced. Although these changes and injuries can be restored after birth, they rarely return to their pre-pregnancy state.
2. Menopausal women: postmenopausal estrogen levels decreased, pelvic floor tissue will become weaken, lax. Therefore, uterine prolapse and stress urinary incontinence are more likely to occur after middle-aged and older people, and pelvic floor muscle evaluation and training are needed.
3. Women who wish to prepare for pregnancy: pelvic floor muscle training can promote pelvic blood circulation, promote endometrial growth, and help conceive. It can also strengthen the elasticity of the pelvic floor muscles, delivery process is smoother, reduce the risk of vaginal tear, prevent postpartum urinary incontinence , uterine and vaginal prolapse. Women who prepare to have second child should have done her pelvic floor function evaluation before pregnancy. Because of the pregnancy, the existing condition such as vaginal laxation, uterine prolapse and other symptoms will be aggravated.
4, Wish to experience a better sexual life: According to the analysis: sexual dissatisfaction caused by pelvic floor muscle relaxation postpartum reached more than 70%, training of pelvic floor muscles helps in better vaginal muscle control, prepare for better sexual life.
5, Sedentary lifestyle, obesity, constipation women: Standing or sitting for a long time, will lead to muscle relaxation, poor blood circulation at the pelvic floor, pelvic floor muscle become lax.
